Cole & Son launches Foundations
13/07/2011

Cole & Son will launch the Spring / Summer 2011 Collection, Foundations, in July. Consisting of at designs, the leading wallpaper manufacturer's latest collection is influenced by architectural building materials and reclaimed surfaces.

Materials such as metal, timber, marble and concrete provide inspiration for the collection, with many of the designs incorporating a recycled feel for a vintage or urban effect. The designs are a fusion of new ideas and prints from the extensive Cole & Son archive.

Cole & Son CEO, Simon Glendenning comments: "Our latest collection highlights the aesthetic beauty of every day surfaces and textures, in a contemporary and luxurious way. Whether it's a residential or commercial setting, these stylish designs will create an impact and appeal to customers looking to create dramatic and unexpected interiors. "

The ten designs included in the Foundations collection are:

Crackle  - An array of distressed and weathered crackled paint effects ranging from Gustavian-style bleached paintwork to luxurious and exuberant gilded surfaces. Colors include White Cream, Light Blue, Duck Egg & Gold, Ink Blue, Silver, Gold and Bronze.

Antique Mirror  - A design incorporating reclaimed tiles creating the appearance of a vintage foxed mirror. Unusual printing techniques were incorporated with the use of foil and transparent ink creating the reflective effect. Colors include Silver, Gray and Golden Bronze.

Concrete  - A carefully designed pattern to resemble an industrial surface. Colors available are Light Gray, Charcoal, Cork and Yellow.

Tweed  - A chic, never used vintage design from the 1950s. A colorful pattern that incorporates a tweed texture on a solid background, this design would suit a feature wall for maximum impact. Colors include White, Brown, Black & White, Yellow & Orange, Blue and Red.

Wood Grain  - A hand drawn wood grain effect with an industrial edge, available in mostly neutral tones. Colors include Gray & Gray, Driftwood, Oak, Walnut, Dark Brown, White, Inky Blue and Black & White.

Stone Block  - An impressive trumpet l'oeil style stone block print, accurately replicating the illusion of masonry. One of Cole & Son's popular past prints, the design has been resurrected and printed in a new selection of colors. Colors include White, Gray, Sandstone, Black and Pink Gray.

Marble  - Replicating a large slab of marble, this striking pattern is available in White, Gray & White, Green and Black colourways.

Embossed Moiré  - Printed using a traditional embossing method, historically used to create a sophisticated watered silk effect. Available in three metallic colors including Gunmetal, Silver & Gold.

Weave  - A small scale print, this woven design is from the Cole & Son archive and imitates a straw-like texture. Colors include White, Gray, Oatmeal, Black and Red.

Salvage  - This design has a vintage, tarnished copper panel effect combining rusting metal colors in a manner reminiscent of stripped walls and old paint work. Colors include White & Gray, Plaster, Metal Rust, Charcoal & Silver and Copper & Green.
