Classix II is a breathtaking, diverse collection of hand screen printed and digitally printed wallpapers from the archive of Coles Studio together with a new group of extravagant large scale designs from the iconic Italian designer, painter and craftsman, Fornasetti. These designs are printed to order and therefore can be Custom Coloured. PHOENIX, the historic emblem of Queen Elizabeth I, is a 1950s design from the archive by Mary Oliver. The mythical bird is now resplendent in colour fades and plumage of ochre, flame and silver on putty ground or crimson, yellow and violet on silver foil. A stylised 1950's drapes design, PROSCENIUM is split in half with a left and right roll to make up the full large scale 150 cm repeat. In red, black and white or ochre, black and white. BAIAE by John Drummond is a stunning 1950s design with dramatic large-scale figures and a design repeat of 2 metres. In white on charcoal ground or silver on mauve. The majestic NEW DETAILS OF ROME has now been restyled and is much larger in scale. The architectural features include classical portals and ancient capitals of the city. FLEUR DE LYS is a mid Victorian archive design hand printed in gold on black. Designed in 1847 by A.W.N. Pugin with origins in a 15th century velvet brocade, SCARISBRICK is magnificently displayed in scarlet, shocking pink, purple and gold. INDIAN is a design from the archive attributed to William Morris and shown in red, copper and purple or black, purple and gold. HOLOGRAPHIC SPHERES is a new Coles Studio design with holographic imagery. The 1959 bold geometric design MARBLE TILE is transformed in dark lavender, grey, black and copper. PALM is an Empire design from the 1820s recreated in old white, black and silver. A large scale mid 18th century floral damask, CHIPPENDALE is one of Cole & Son’s most iconic designs, now hand screen printed in distressed Lapis Lazuli on beaten bronze and chamois on mink. REGENCY BRACKET is from an 1820s Empire design now in silver and ash on a textured silver background with central medallion (optional), also in muted purple, copper on soft red. A Coles Studio design on a stunning holographic ground TIRADE is available in a black or white. GAUDI is a spectacular counterpoint design adapted from a 1960’s archive document and printed in silver panels quartered with bronze to pewter ombre on a black background. A large scale design taken from a 1953 screen FORNASETTI - LIBRIS MAXIMUS shows the Ex Libris books from the Fornasetti collection rescaled x 3, in black and white on pale biscuit ground.
